DESCRIPTION OF DESIGN AND HISTORY:
Jozan is a village in northwestern Iran, southeast of Malayer. Rugs from Jozan and surrounding villages are similar to early twentieth-century Sarouks in design. These are double-wefted rugs of about 200 symmetric knots to the square inch. The foundation is cotton and wefts may be blue.
