DESCRIPTION: Khotan /Hotan carpet with three medallion design on a white natural dye ground.Size: (1.30m X 2.70m) (4´3"x8´11") An authentic hand woven carpet from Khotan. It is a very good example of Uyghur weaving from the Khotan Oasis weaving workshops, which have been working for centuries. Khotan is one of the ancient cities on the famous Silk Road. For centuries, the carpets from this area have been highly prized for their craftsmanship and beauty. One main difference between these and other "oriental" rugs is that these will not shrink if they are washed. You can be sure of the durability of this carpet, and easily keep it in good condition. The wool is soft to the touch, please see the detailed picture below for a closeup. The circular geometric designs on this carpet are typical Khotan designs, passed down through the generations. This is a new carpet and is in perfect condition. All our carpets are purchased in person in the Kashgar region. They are all authentic in the most literal sense. We are shipped in Kashgar and ship to clients around the world from here. Please be patient as your carpet travels halfway around the world.
