Central Anatolia. Size:5'3"X 11'6" Age: Early 20th c. Wool . Slit-tapestry weave. Woven in two parts; sewn together off the loom. Condition: Very good. This intricate compsition demands considerable skill on the part of the weavers requiring mastery of technique and memory. Notice that the more intricate side of the design is the side that isi joined; this exhibits one of the mysteries of kilim magic. These, called Rashwan, are prized kilims. Price:$2000.
