The exhibition ‘From Ashgabat to Istanbul’ at the Textile Museum of Canada is a great reason to visit Toronto before April 19, 2015. The 70+ works of rug art on display come from over several private collections and institutions from all over Canada.

Navajo blankets at the de Young in San Francisco

The de Young, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, holds an exhibition ‘Lines on the Horizon: Native American Art from the Weisel Family Collection’ through 4 January 2015. ‘There is a group of Navajo blankets, older pottery and other items donated to the De Young Museum. Among the Navajo blankets is a 1st phase Ute chief’s blanket’ said Patrick Weiler to Jozan Magazine.

Armenian rugs exhibition in Vienna as a part of the ICOC

The Armenian Rugs Society has organized an exhibition ‘Armenian Rugs and Textiles’ 15 September 2014 in Vienna. This exhibition is a part of the TKF/ICOC Vienna-Budapest Tour 15-21 September 2014. The Armenian Rugs and Textiles exhibition including lectures will take place at Palais Sans Souci and starts Monday 15 September at 10.00.

Indigo-dyed Textiles of Mali

Gallery51 in Philadelphia, run by the well-known antique rug dealer Craig Wallen, holds a special exhibition of indigo-dyed textiles from Mali entitled ‘The Power of Blue’ 1 August through 31 August 2014. Textiles from Nigeria and Burkino Faso will also be on display.
