Central Anatolian Village Rug - Robert T. Mosby Inc.![]() NAME: Central Anatolian Village Rug CATEGORY: Anatolian ORIGIN/TYPE: Anatolian AGE CLASSIFICATION: pre-1910 ID(Jozan): no. 98886 DESCRIPTION: This early 19th Century Anatolian rug comes from the village of Kavak near Konya. It measures 4’5” X 6’2” (137 X 189 cm). It has a fantastic red prayer niche with a tree of life design surrounded by green with green spandrels with two coffee urns in it, not unlike Konya. It has multiple borders in yellow, red, blue, ivory and black. The rug has wear commensurate with age mostly confined to the blacks and yellows. The corroded black testifys to the great age of this carpet. The ends and sides are complete. The beauty of this carpet has many facets including the condition and palette. It is, in my opinion, a fantastic world class rug.The buyer pays the shipping with insurance More images
