Qarajeh - Tschebull Antique Carpets

NAME: Qarajeh
CATEGORY: Persian
ORIGIN/TYPE: Karaja
AGE CLASSIFICATION: pre-1910
ID(Jozan): no. 98854
DESCRIPTION: "Kennereh", or runner in Western terminology, from the village of Qarajeh in East Azarbayjan in NW Iran, probably dating to about 1910, 3´4" x 10´10". The rug has a Caucasian "Eagle Kazak" field design sometimes used in NW Iran, but not normally with these colors and precise drawing. The greens and yellows are noteworthy. This piece is basically collectible, but would make a good floor rug, as it is complete and unworn.
