Qashqai bag (115)
Qashqai bag,Fars Province,South West Persia,circa 1880.Dimensions of the piece:2´.0"x2´.1" (61x64 cm).This bag is the bigger one of the pair.The navy field employs a large ivory medallion with hooks outside and inside is one of the most attractive Qashqai designs,as well other elements such as rosettes,plants.flowers etc.The madder main border contains a connected leaf and rosette pattern and is flanked by medium blue dice design minor guards.The drawing of the piece is exceptionally beautiful.The colors are all from natural sources and the piece has a soft handle.The pile is low and there are some minor condition problems but a true collectible item.

Dazkiri Yastik (114)
Dazkiri Yastik,Western Anatolia,circa 1870.Measurements of the piece;2´.7"x2´.1" (79x64 cm).Yastik,cushion or pillow in Turkish is one of the most desirable weavings types among Anatolian pieces.This particular example has an attractive madder field decorated with curving leaves, flowers,plants,hooks and other interesting devices.The green rosette main border is flanked by brown/red and white/red minors,both of different widths.The colors are beautiful and all from natural sources.The handle is soft,the pile is high and the condition is good except acouple of lines missing from one end.

Qashqai bag,Fars Province,South West Persia,circa 1880.Measurements of the piece:2´.0"x1´.10" (61x56 cm). This bag is the smaller one of the pair.Please see no 115 for description.Additionally this bag has a bird in the field unlike no 115.Both pieces are more or less in the same condition.

Kazak rug (198)
Unique Kazak prayer rug,Southwest Caucasus,dated 1314(=1896).Measurements of the piece:5´.2"x2´.9" (157x84 cm).This unparalleled piece was woven sideways with a short warp.The sapphire blue field contains a red panel pointed at one end in a prayer-like manner with a date 1314(=1896) and a larger ivory panel containing an eight pointed star and associated hooks.The red panel also displays green and blue hooked devices and similar devices appear in the blue reserves.The ivory main border is decorated with a classic Caucasian calyx and slant leaf motif.The running dog outermost border is particularly colorful and there are numerous barber pole guards.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition with the top kilim folded under and the sides are original.
