Updated news on Sartirana Textile Show 2008

"The 4th SARTIRANA TEXTILE SHOW will open
regularly on Wednesday September 17th, 2008 at 3:00 PM, but we have a
preview with a light dinner on Tuesday 16th at 6:00 PM and all Jozan
readers are invited", says Alberto Boralevi to Jozan Magazine. (

preview. Both must be printed out and
shown to the Castle entrance.)
The show this year includes more than 45 dealers exhibiting in the
Textile section (preview), plus many other general antique dealers in the castle.
There will be two special exhibitions together with the fair: one is entitled TEXTILES FROM
NORTHERN AFRICA by Nader of Milan and
Luca Sguaitzer of Mantua; the other one
is devoted to TURKMEN ENSIS from the Collection of Jonathan Broido.
Most of the exhibitors are the same as in previous year but there are new entries and
many countries represented: Austria (5),
Germany (5), France (2), England (1), Greece (1), Belgium (1), Italy
(22), Switzerland (2), Turkey (2), Iran (2), Israel (1), Brasil (1).
The short popular lecture program entitled TEA-TIME-TEXTILE- TALKS,
will be repeated every day at 5:00 PM.
At present the
scheduled lectures are:

Bolle: Washing an Antique Rug

September at 5:00 Jonathan Broido: Ensi, Turkmen Door Rugs, followed by a short talk by Richard
Isaacson on the same subject.
20 September at 5:00 Chiara Battini: North African Textiles,
Kilims and Rugs
