Mughal carpet fragment 1630-50. Photo courtesy BonhamsA rare Mughal Indian carpet fragment ca. 1630-50 (140-135 x 153-148mm) is to be offered by Bonhams at the auction "Oriental & European Carpets & Rugs", April 27, 2004 in New Bond Street, London .

According to Bonhams it is one of the only examples in existence, with two other fragments housed in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, and the al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait. The carpet was acquired by the descendants of a family who purchased both the former premises and contents of Jekyll's, Carpet Dealers, 74 South Audley Street, London, active in the late 1920's.
